Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup sugar for coating

  • Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 375°F (190°C).
  • Spoon dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
  • Pipe 4-inch strips of dough into the hot oil. Fry until golden, about 2 minutes per side, then remove and drain on paper towels.

Notes

Serve churros warm with a dipping sauce like chocolate or caramel.
Ensure the oil is hot enough to prevent sogginess.
